There are many people in the USA who work MLM Programs. There are literally miilions of people who utilize this method of business operation to make a fulltime income or in order to attain one. The MLM Business has certainly matured since the days of Amway or Shaklee. Beginning in the 1980's with the use of the Computer, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of MLM startups. This was a godsend for the MLM distributor, since this created an extra opportunity for the MLMer to make a residual income. Recently however the proliferation of companies has hurt the MLM distributor. On the surface it may seem that there are extra opportunities for the MLmer to prosper. However, under closer analysis what is revealed is a shrinking market for the average Mlm distributor. There are only a certain amount of MLMers available to be recruited into any opportunity. This number remains static or increases by a small percentage yearly. The number of MLM companies has increased at such a startling pace that it is a wonder that any of them can survive and recriut a distribution force that will allow the company to survive. Marketing and Sales tactics must change to accomodate the new market environment. Most new distributors will be unable to meet this challenge. The new level of competition will require that the MLM distributor go outside the available pool of distributors to recruit a sales force. This will expand the distributor base and allow the MLMer to recruit to a wider audience. More training will be needed to bring the new "outsider" up to speed. This takes a lot of time but will result in a very important aspect of MLM which builds relationships Having Physical or phone contact with a prospect used to be how MLM was done. "Building Relationships" created stability and security needed to build a residual income. A distributor often will not change companies if they "know" their sponsor. We should stop hiding behind our computers and the internet and return to the core concept of MLM which is building relationships. Survival of the new MLM distributor will depend upon the system used to recruit for him or her. If the newbie has access to leads, autoresponders etc and can profit from them by adding additional income streams, they can more easily overcome those difficult first couple of months in business. Any tactic that can help your new distributor prosper, will increase your chance of success. MLM is probably one of the easiest businesses to start. If you treat it like a hobby you will fail. Treat it like the business it is and the potential it has; you will be successful.
