Do you have a bike stuck in your basement or garage which is just gathering dust with flat tires well now you can use it to get rid of your spare tire and lose 10 pounds fast with out even really trying. Let me explain.. So your now feel ready to lose weight. All of us do at some point and losing weight is a great way to both look sexier and feel fitter and healthier. Not only that, but you'll feel better about yourself when you can slip in to that sexy new dress or tight pair of pants and on top of that you'll have more confidence than you have had for years. A good starting point is to aim to lose 10 pounds when starting a weight loss program. For most people this should be an attainable goal within just a few weeks which if you need to lose more weight will motivate you to carry on. To be fair to yourself and your body don't try a crash diet trying to lose 10 pounds in 2 or 3 days it will just make you feel ill. So how do you get started? When most people start thinking about diet's they visualise food they would not ever choose to eat and imagine exercises that involve pain and suffering.But it doesn't have to be like that. If you're looking to lose 10 pounds while still having fun and getting some fresh air, look instead to what was probably one of your favorite childhood activities: bicycling. One of the biggest benefits of bicyling (bike riding) is often overlooked is that a bike is one of the few items of exercise equipment that can also be a way of getting around. This is significant as one of the biggest reasons people fail to lose weight is they can't fit their exercise regimen in to their daily lives. So finally you have made a commitment to go to the gym every day and get a gym membership at the local gym. Great idea and I am pleased you made the commitment but this is what I find happens with most people.It's Friday morning an a friend calls and asks you out for a drink but it's your gym night (never mind always tomorrow and you skip the gym) .Then one of the kids wants you to take them to football practice or swimming (never mind another time and you skip going to the gym). See what I mean? Eventually it becomes easy to break the gym routine, because it's always going to seem like some "extra activity" that you don't always have time for and can't schedule in your weekly and daily routines. Lets just suppose for a moment instead of gym membership you either got your old bike up to standard or went out and brought a flashy new one and you decide you are going to bike to work. Whilst it's probably going to take a few extra weeks to see results it won't screw up your schedule. If you live in the city chances are it will only take you a few extra minutes compared with travelling by car or subway. So you get a full body work out for free and it fits in to your schedule just great. When you engage in most other forms of exercise, you're engaging in it exclusively: you're not getting anything else done when you're at the gym. With biking, on the other hand, the exercise is almost a secondary bonus to the primary function of getting somewhere you need to go. Add to this the fact that you're saving money on transportation and doing good for the environment, it's hard to argue against biking as one of the best forms of exercise. Amazingly just riding your bike to work and back every day you will quickly lose 10 pounds and it won't interfere with your daily routine. If it's not possible to use your bike for work why not use it for running errands. If you want to lose 10 pounds even quicker then why not try bike riding for fun may be with the family at weekends. You'll soon cover several miles and the weight will just drop of you.
