People search every day to find ways to improve their lives. Often the answers are hard to find - yet we sometimes find the answers right in front of us. In many cases, educating ourselves is all it takes to lead us to discoveries about ourselves that can help to improve our lives. And, no matter how good you think you have it - there is always room for improvement in everything we do. One way involves using the meaning of dreams to improve your life. Everyone sleeps - therefore everyone dreams. When we dream, we are allowing our conscious mind to rest even though the data stored in our subconscious minds is processed. During the day, your brain sends a lot of information that you don't consciously process to your subconscious for storage - background noises, feelings that you may wish to ignore. In order for your body to work properly, this material must, at some point be processed and analyzed. That's where dreaming comes into play. As you sleep - when your body and conscious mind recoup the energy spent during the day - your brain is busy processing and sorting this information in an attempt to use important information that you have stored in your subconscious. But, how does this help us to improve our lives? You may think that dreams just happen - that you have no control over things that transpire in your sleep. But there are two kinds of dreams - natural and intentional. And once you understand the meaning of dreams, you could be taking steps to improving your life. Natural dreams occur with no effort on our part - just as the tides roll in and roll back out each day. While we may not actually focus on the tides, yet the tides play an important role in the cycle of the universe. Natural dreams can have an effect on our lives if we remember and interpret them. We learn to analyze our deepest feelings and desires. However, the effect of natural dreams can be taken one step forward. Intentional dreams can enhance our dream experience and allow us to focus on changes that can improve our lives. An intentional dream is occurs when you focus your mind and heart on a certain area of your life and generate dreams that make a difference in your life. Different from manipulating your dreams, intentional dreams only give you a focus for your dreams, a stage so to speak. Sort of like the way in which you would direct a child towards a certain goal, then stop and allow the child the freedom to master the goal in his or her own way. You are not controlling your dreams, you are focusing your dreams to areas in your life that you would like to change. Once you have focused on this specific area, the next step is to remember the events or people of the dream and learn the meaning behind the details. Often, we can get an in depth look at our true feelings and desires. The process of intentional dreaming can help us to solve many specific issues in our lives, and giving us insight into psychological, personal, and even spiritual questions that we are pondering. As we learn to interpret and analyze these dreams, we learn more about ourselves. You should realize, though, that everything we learn may not be something we like. Imagine for a moment that you have been involved in a disagreement with a close friend for years. Taking a deeper look at your role in the dispute may lay bare your bad actions and can even shed light on how you can make amends and resolve the conflict for a better relationship in the future. Improving your life using the meaning of dreams requires effort on your part - but most important things do. First you will need to learn to focus your mind and heart, then you must learn to remember the details of your dreams, and finally learn to analyze your dreams. And, it could actually require that you deal with issues that could have been buried deeply in your subconscious mind and require that you face the past. Dreams can help you to improve your life in many areas. Dreams can help with personal growth, career development, parenting, can help you to build skills that can help improve every aspect of your life, and can even help you to be a more creative person. As with many things, it requires learning a set of skills (remembering and interpreting) and exerting these skills to enhance your life - dreaming your way to a better life!
