Indianapolis Offers a Great Relocation Option

If you are thinking of relocating 50 miles or more from your present location, you have to consider a lot of factors before making the move. You must know the nature of the job market, the quality of schools and the crime rate of the area.

These and a host of other questions must be addressed with housing costs playing a major role in the decision-making process. It is a fact that the average housing costs in most major cities is significantly above the national average. This makes finding a place to live near your anticipated work quite difficult.

Once you’ve considered all the factors, you will find Indianapolis to be a great place to relocate to. The housing costs in Indianapolis are in line with national averages, and there are great schools, and a very respectable crime rate. From all respects Indianapolis is one of the greatest cities in the country to call home.

There are a number of employment opportunities in the Indianapolis area. A number of major corporations have operations in the Indy area including Eli Lily and General Motors. The finance and insurance industries are also quite strong in Indianapolis so there are ample opportunities in the professional fields as well. In fact, the Indianapolis economy is very diversified so chances are that you will have little trouble finding something in a field you love.

Housing costs, for a city the size of Indianapolis that has nearly 800,000 people, are very reasonable especially in this super-heated real estate market. There are a number of respectable apartment communities and corporate housing options for people new to the area but unsure as to where they want to ultimately settle down.

Indianapolis can rightfully boast of a top notch public school system. It also offers several options for those interested in higher and continuing education. Butler University, located in the heart of the city, is a fine institution with some of the state’s best college graduates. There are also the state’s top universities like Purdue and IU, plus many other opportunities for higher education.

Surprisingly, rush hour traffic in Indianapolis is fairly light considering the size of the city. Once you get to know the area, you can make use of one of the several alternate routes besides the interstate to get in and out of Indy. If you live within 20 miles of the city limit, you can generally make it to work within 30-35 minutes.

Not only is Indianapolis brimming with opportunity for economic and educational growth, the city is also a great place to meet people and hang out. Boasting all of the amenities of a large city including football and basketball sports complexes, Indianapolis has everything you could ever need to have a good time and enjoy life. If you are thinking of relocating in the near future, take the time to see all that Indianapolis has to offer.
