Enriched by a wealth of churches, antiquities and natural surroundings and with beautiful, diverse scenery, holidaying in Cyprus is sure to suit all tastes. With over 330 days of sunshine yearly and 9000 years of beguiling history, Cyprus, as a holiday retreat, has something for everybody. Cyprus provides all that you would require in a holiday, with the family beaches at Protaras and the clubs of Ayia Napa, the harbours of Larnaca and Limassol and the diversity of Nicosia, the Troodos Mountains and the Akamas Peninsula near the more subdued west coast resorts of Latchi and Polis that offer splendid walking vacations.

Paphos, an enchanting resort with an appealing harbour with a wealth of nearby historic sites and a good choice of inexpensively priced bars and tavernas is on the west coast of the island . Yet more placid than Paphos is Polis with more modest unspoilt beaches and coves to search whereas Pomos is a small town close to the foothills of the Paphos mountains with stunning sceneries, sandy coves and deserted beaches. Pissouri is also near to Paphos and is enveloped by high cliffs. Paphos is excellent for family vacations, with a profusion of things to see and do, and has a wealth of water sports available on the Coral Bay Beach.

Ayia Napa is known as the clubbing capital of Cyprus and is on the eastern side of the island. In summer many of the large European clubs set up home here and it becomes an alternative to Ibiza. The beaches are excellent although crowded in summer. Protaras, on the other hand, is similar in style to Ayia Napa, but has more space and beach family holidays are best spent here. The beaches are long and sandy with safe clear water. Nearby Pernera has one of the quietest and least crowded beaches in the Protaras area.

A good base for touring while enjoying your vacations in Cyprus is Limassol, the islands second largest city, perfect for those planning a trip to the Troodos Mountains and the nearby villages. There are varied attractions besides impressive Greek tavernas and music clubs. Those looking for a Cyprus holiday blending beaches with more authentic Cypriot life should think of one of the larger coastal towns like Limassol.

Besides being home to one of the two main airports on the island, Larnaca is also known as one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and is famed for its' large harbour and international yacht marina. It is a contemporary seaboard town with superb shops and restaurants and the delightful Palm Tree Promenade and is situated on the south east side of the island

The largest city in Cyprus is the capital Nicosia which is looked on as the shopping centre of the island. Contemporary, vigorous with diverseness within a prospering New city and an old walled city with a large array of shops and street markets. Hours can pass by just rambling the old cobbled streets delighting in the charming mixture of old and new.
