3. Copper. Of all the materials used for metal roofing, copper must be the best choice around. Copper have been used for many centuries when it comes to roofing. This material easily becomes a favorite because it doesn't rust or peel. Unlike steel and aluminum that needs coatings, which incidentally peel over time, copper has that natural red hue. It can go even without a paint job.

The only thing that makes copper "unpopular" is its cost. It can be very expensive. But with its better quality, the cost advantage of other inferior metals over copper evens out with time. Also, this material is relatively soft such that it allows easy installation. As a bonus, weathering will naturally allow copper to turn into a verdigris patina over time.

4. Alloys. Alloys are a combination of one or two metals. This type of material is especially formulated to attain the desired strength, durability, and toughness of a metal to be used as a roofing system. And more often than not, its ability to weather all types of conditions is added into the equation. Alloys can be considered a customized type of metal roofing material. Being so, its cost depends entirely on the material being used. Generally though, this type of roofing material can also be pricey.

These metal roofing options are appreciated by people who build their homes, business establishments and other structures. Even with very distinct requirements, they always find an alternative to choose from. Building roofs are not as complex as we'd imagine them to be. There is always a ready metal roofing for every house, or building that we have in mind.
