Every couple wants their wedding day to be perfect. Unfortunately, that's a tall order, and at least a few things may go wrong. If that happens there is always a way to keep things flowing smoothly. The key is to stay calm and collected, and stay with the plan. The day belongs to the bride and groom, and whatever they want should rule the day. As you get ready to start planning your wedding, decide exactly what you want. Once you make certain choices, they will be hard to change. Sit down with your fiance and discuss your plans. Most likely you'll have budget constraints, so you need to know what you absolutely must have and what you'd be willing to let go. The first major decision to be taken is on the date of the wedding. If your plan is to get married in a church or any other institution then you have to be sure of the availability of the institution on that particular date, else you may have to go for an alternate date. Therefore it is important to have alternate dates so that you do not get overtly disappointed at non-availability of venue. Things add up fast, so carefully plan your budget. Common sense will come in handy when you make your choices. Concentrate on good ways to keep the costs down. For example, if you want to hire a DJ to spin music at the reception, check more than one source. You may be able to find a better deal. When you start buying the things that you need for your wedding use a list that includes all costs and items that you need and make sure that you stick to it. Contact merchants in your area that offer the services that you need and see if you can negotiate a better price. After all, it never hurts to try. Hiring a photographer is one of the biggest decisions in any wedding plan. Your wedding photos will capture your memories and be with you all of your lives. Visit several photographers and look at a number of sample photos. You may have some special pictures and you'll want to know before the wedding that this photographer can shoot them. The next important issue you want to decide on is the number of people you want to invite to your wedding function. Be realistic and remain within your budget while counting heads for sending the invite. If your budget is tight then there is no point in having a huge guest list, so you will have to cut down on some names and limit only to those close family members and friends who are important to you. After deciding on the head count you have to decide on the caterer that fits your budget. Do not decide on the caterer just on the basis of the cost factor, take also into account his reputation and services he is offering. Caterer cost also depends on the menu you want for the wedding party- so deciding on a good and reasonable menu is equally important. So you have to decide on a number of things while planning for your wedding. And to be sure that you have taken care of all aspects get somebody - a friend or sister to help you with the planning. And it definitely pays to have some body help you decide on things like music for the reception, the decorations and the menu etc. Even though it's a lot of work, be sure to have fun when you plan for your big day. After all it's one of the most special days you'll ever have.
