People also often enjoy anticipating the next move in the game. Those spectators who have played at some time in their lives like to imagine what strategy they would invoke in any given situation. Football continues to draw more people into the excitement of professional sport. Football is just as popular if not more so than the nation past time of baseball and of hockey. Canadians play their own brand of football, with slightly different rules. However, the sport of football has not seen nearly the same amount of popularity in Canada as it has in the United States.

Young children, both boys and girls start playing football early on. Teams used to be made up only of boys, but now the girls are proving that gender doesn't have to play a part in sports.
